GSTBBDS702: Siem Reap-Tonle Sap Lake-Prek Toal (Bird Sanctuary) (Full Day)
The Tonle Sap Lake is one of the natural wonders of the world. Due to the cycle of annual flood water, the Great Lake serves as a main source of freshwater fish and as the foundations of the Great Angkor Empire dating from some 1000 years. The floating houses and fishing villages along its banks are main tourist attractions. The Tonle Sap area also has a wealth of bird life for keen bird-watchers.

Since the most ancient times, fishermen have lived on the Great Lake in a perfect balance with nature, settling stilted villages along the shores or gathering in floating villages to go with the flow.
The Bird Sanctuary and Biosphere Reserve of Prek Toal. Drive to the fishing village of Chong Kneas by a private boat. Cruise through the fishing villages of the Tonle Sap Lake to discover the natural splendor and old lifestyle of the country.

Visit Prek Toal floating village and enjoy bird watching in the Bird Sanctuary. Discover the incredible variety of water birds, including endangered species such as storks, pelicans and ibises. Picnic lunch on the site. Return to Siem Reap
Recommended : The best time for visiting the Bird Sanctuary of Prek Toal is from December to June. Later, as the water level rises, most of the birds scatter away.
