Depart from Phnom Penh to Phnom Chisor, climb the 100-meter hill to enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding plains and a visit to the 11th century Brahman temple. Constructed of laterite and brick with carved lintels of sandstone, the complex is surrounded by the partially ruined wall of a 2.5m wide gallery with windows. Inscriptions found here date from the 11th century, when this site was known as Suryagiri. The wooden doors to the sanctuary in the center of the complex, which open to the east, are decorated with carvings of figures standing on pigs. Inside the sanctuary are statues of the Buddha.

Visit a silk weaving village and continue to Tonle Bati is a lake and popular picnic spot; there are two Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm and Yeay Peau, both of which offer some interesting bas-reliefs in fairly good condition. Both temples were built under Jayavaraman VII in the late 12th century during the same period that Bayon and Angkor Tom in Siem Reap were constructed.
